Emailing with pupils?

ICTI'm not sure what you think about emailing with pupils?  At the end of the year I give out a 'teacher' email address so that my old year 6 can contact me over the summer and start of next year if they have any problems.  As usual I get a lot of 'Hi Mr Ross' emails almost immediately and then it dies down and I never hear from them again.  Fine by me.

For those that do spend more time emailing with pupils though you'd do well to read the advice that Mr Belshaw has put on his site.  There are some excellent points raised, especially the third one - Keep Records.
