Personalising Learning

WeblogMr Belshaw has written an interesting article on personalising learning.  Although the article is more specifically written for secondary schools it still raises some interesting points.  To be honest I think that primary schools are much further ahead in personalised learning - at least certain schools are.  Teachers in my school (and I'm sure in other schools following similar plans) enjoy having the freedom to teach to a skills based continuium.  This allows us to hit the 'What children actually need' in Kathy Sierra's diagram.

Being Year 6 I have the disadvantage of SATs at the end of the year, but I can still to certain extent move children away from the 'test driven work' until at least a little closer to the exams.
