Google Calendar

ICT Mr Belshaw, from the brilliant http://www.mrbelshaw.co.uk/, has written a post (here) about how the free Google Calendar can be used to organise your schedule.

The Google Calendar looks like a standard calendar that can be purchased from shops, but contains a number of great features that makes keeping organised easy. There are a number of different ways of viewing your calendar, including by the day, by the week, and by the month. Adding items to your calendar is easily done by highlighting the slots you want to add an event to and typing an event description. Events can be set to reoccur. Calendars can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection, and can even be set up to send you a free texts to remind you of upcoming events. As Mr Belshaw suggested, the comments section of the calendar can be used by you to store notes/lesson information.

Take a tour of the Google Calendar here.

To sign up to use Google Calendar you need to create a free Google Account - this only takes a couple of minutes and gives you access to other Google services. Click here to sign up.

I've written before about Google, and as I stated last time - where would we be without it?

My goodness, I'm blushing... ;-)

I've found Google Calendar invaluable for my teaching life since I started using it (which, OK, was only last week).

You can plan your lessons anywhere - well, anywhere with a computer - and, as you say, comment on how the lesson went, what to bring up/follow on with next time, etc.

I'm very pleased with it so far, and probably will be posting a bit more of a guide in future! :-D

I've been using Google Calendar since it's launch several months back and it has been incredibly useful for me too - isn't everything google does good?!!!

I recommend it for any teacher definitely :)
