The Highway Man
For anyone looking at poetry in upper KS2 The Highwayman is always a good choice. I came across the following website whilst finding an online copy of the poem. The poem, by Alfred Noyes, tells a story of the highwayman's visit to see the beautiful Bess at the old inn and of the terrible fate they both meet with powerful imagery and a rhythmic cadence reminiscent of horses' hooves.
What's good about the site is that it highlights the alliteration, metaphors, personification, similies and other vocabulary which may not be familiar to the children.

Hi,
The links work, although Snap Preview is unable to cache the image of the site due to settings from the site only. Click on the link to view the site anyway.
