I'm a busy teacher is in the process of setting up a new primary education focused blog. It is, in his own words, still very much still in it's infancy, but will be aimed at supporting teachers in maintaining a good work/life balance. It will do this by providing helpful hints, tips and resources to support curriculum, leadership and professional development needs.

teachr.co.uk is an all in one 'home page' for primary teachers. The site, set up by Mark Warner, combines news, links and other resources all relevant for primary teachers. Not keen on the combination of links that Mark has put on you can edit the page to suit yourself using the netvibes software.

Martin has email me to ask if I can mention a new online community forum. www.ukteachersforums.co.uk is aimed at providing an independent, online community for teachers and education professionals to offer practical advice, support and a shoulder to cry on in those hours of need!
We are looking to build up a thriving community, so you are most welcome to come along and join in the fun!
The PGCE students at the University of Northampton have created this blog to share resources, ideas and tips about teaching. I'm sure that it'll be useful to anyone completing a PGCE as well as those completing other teacher training.

Following on from Primary Resources creating a Facebook group I thought it would be interesting to try setting one up for this blog. I've received a email today about a new site in the UK - Digi-Infant (www.digi-infant.co.uk). The site presents a way for teachers to communicate with other teachers or aspiring teachers of infant children.
Digi-Infant is a new member of the family of Digi-websites. Their aim is to help teachers in giving their pupils the very best they can offer. According to the history Digi-Kleuter (in Beligium) was the first site of the Digi-family. It expanded to the Netherlands and, now they have started a English branch of the site: Digi-Infant. According to the blurb: "With little knowledge of Internet or websites, teachers can ask members questions and help other members themselves. All of course in a friendly environment, with easy navigation and best of all: it is open 24/7! "
The email ends by saying that as they are new in the UK membership is free. It's got very few members at the moment (5) but it's another site that may well become a good 'discussion' area if enough people join.

It's always good to read about Primary-Teacher-UK on other sites - especially good when it's a positive recommendation by a prolific blogger like Mr Belshaw. In his list of recommended education blogs he says that PTUK is:
"This team blog is unsurprisingly about primary teaching in the UK. It is doubly useful to me as not only does it give me a glimpse of the world of my students before they come to me but I can pass on links to my wife (who is a year 4 teacher)!
This is from a secondary teacher as well. Check out Mr Belshaw's excellent page for other educational blogs.
Lee has emailed me to let me know about his blog, Classroom Management 101, which has some interesting reading. The blog, all about classroom management and includes a mixture of information, downloadable material and videos. Have a look at the Classroom Management Nightmares if you're a NQT. A lot of the text and links however eventually try to lead you into buying a book. I've not seen this book so can't make any comment on it.
